Lasater/Sumpter Design, Inc. is a multidisciplinary design firm specializing in the development of branding and comprehensive communications systems. Founded in 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts, the firm has assisted a wide range of organizations and businesses in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. The firm is now based in Virginia, near Washington D.C., and handles projects on a national level.

Robert Lasater: Educated at Old Dominion University in Virginia, Mr. Lasater received his undergraduate degree in graphic design from Massachusetts College of Art and a graduate degree in business from Harvard University. Before forming Lasater/Sumpter Design in 1980, he was a senior designer with a firm involved in major national corporate identity programs. Mr. Lasater has held teaching positions at Massachusetts College of Art and the Art Institute of Boston and is currently an adjunct professor in communications design at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. An active member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers, he has lectured and conducted seminars for a variety of organizations including the John Hancock Institute and chapters of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
Kathryn Sumpter: Ms. Sumpter was educated at the University of Cincinnati and holds her undergraduate degree in graphic design from Massachusetts College of Art. She served as an associate professor at the Art Institute of Boston for over a decade.
